Job Summary: Prestigious Downtown Law Firm has an immediate opening for a Transactional Real Estate Secretary. This position will provide secretarial support for three attorneys with a real estate practice.

Requirements

  • Stable work history
  • Minimum of 7 years legal experience with Transactional, Corporate, and Real Estate work
  • Proficiency in Microsoft (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook and law firm time/billing software)
  • Preference for familiarity with iManage document management system
  • Familiarity with real estate forms and documents as well as corporate/business law transactional practices
  • Working knowledge of notary and jurat signature blocks
  • Familiarity with creating redlines and tracking document version history
  • Familiarity with real property searches and locating recorded documents in real property records
  • Familiarity with electronic filing of deeds and other real estate documents in county property records
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize accordingly
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Proof-reading
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to support multiple attorneys
  • Entering attorney time
  • Sending out invoices
  • Drafting, editing and redlining real estate and corporate documents
  • Transcribing dictation
  • Filing (both electronic and paper files)
  • Preparing conflicts, engagement letters, NBIFs
  • Preparing check requests and expense reimbursements
  • Preparing electronic closing binders

Schedule: 8-hour shift; overtime is occasionally required beyond 5PM to meet case deadlines and client deliverables. Remote work may be periodically available subject to client demands.
