AUSTIN, TEXAS (October 22, 2012) – the 81st District Court in Karnes County, Texas entered a final judgment resolving a dispute construing the terms of a 1950 Deed and declaring that Defendants were the beneficiaries of one-half of all royalties in any existing or future lease. The property in dispute is located in the Eagle Ford play.
Karnes County District Judge Donna S. Rayes agreed with the Defendants who were represented by Jonathan Baughman and Chris Halgren of McGinnis, Lochridge, & Kilgore, LLP and entered judgment granting their clients complete relief and awarded them the full amount of the attorneys’ fees they sought to recover in the action. Mr. George Prochaska, Jr., one of the firm’s clients, stated his satisfaction with the Court’s ruling and the efficiency in which the lawyers at McGinnis Lochridge & Kilgore obtained the judgment given that the lawsuit was on file only for eight months before obtaining the judgment.
