Every employer confronts employment issues – from personnel disputes to human resources management to employee benefits. Our employment lawyers represent the full spectrum of employers, from small businesses to Fortune 100 companies, and both public and private employers. We work to resolve employee disputes efficiently and with the least possible burden and business interruption. We help employers manage and avoid risks by counseling clients on compliance with employment laws and by developing employee handbooks, employment agreements, and compliance and training programs. Our employment lawyers work diligently to help the firm’s clients avoid litigation. Nonetheless, we are experienced in representing employers in state and federal courts, both trial and appellate, as well as before governmental agencies such as the EEOC, the Texas Workforce Commission’s Civil Rights Division, and the Texas Education Agency.
Our employee benefits lawyers assist clients with qualified and non-qualified employee pension and welfare benefit plans to ensure compliance with ERISA and the Internal Revenue Code. We have experience with executive compensation, 401(k) plans, ESOPs, 403(b) and 457 plans, stock option plans, and 409A compliance. We also counsel clients regarding VEBAs, MEWAs, ERISA and non-ERISA group health plans, self-funded and fully insured group health plans, occupational injury benefit plans, and cafeteria plans. Our lawyers have experience representing clients in Internal Revenue Service and Department of Labor audits and correction procedures.
