McGinnis Lochridge seeks an ambitious, professional, and intelligent attorney with diverse and unique background, education or experience to join our growing employment law team.

The ideal candidate will have between one and four years’ employment law experience, strong academic credentials, be highly motivated, able to work both independently and as a team player and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. This position is full time, partnership track, and will be located in Dallas, Texas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and draft pleadings, discovery demands and responses, motions, briefs, correspondence, memos and other legal documents
  • Research federal and state employment / employee benefits laws including but not limited to ERISA, HIPAA, 409A, Title VII, ADEA, ADA and FLSA
  • Draft employee handbooks and benefits-related policies
  • Review and draft employment agreements including confidentiality agreements and restrictive covenants
  • Handle depositions, hearings, and trials
  • Interact directly with clients, courts and governmental entities
  • Counsel and advise clients on employment law matters
  • Prepare and present CLE presentations on litigation and employment law issues
  • Work closely with Labor and Employment attorneys and other Firm partners and associates
  • Participate in firm-sponsored meetings and events
  • Be active in community, pro bono, and professional activities


  • Bachelor’s degree and J.D., with top 25% class ranking
  • Licensed to practice law and in good standing in Texas
  • Ability to maintain license in good standing throughout employment
  • 1 to 4 years of applicable experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills
  • Strong research, writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Persuasive public speaking and presentation skills
  • Professional entrepreneurial, team-oriented, and client-centric mind-set that embraces diversity and inclusion
  • Ability to work independently and responsibly
  • Mock trial and/or moot court experience preferred
  • Law Review Preferred
  • Judicial clerkship preferred
