Job Summary:
McGinnis Lochridge seeks a seven-plus-year attorney to join our highly experienced Environmental and Water Practice Group. The ideal candidate will have significant regulatory and contested case hearing experience. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-experienced, collaborative team in a full-service firm with opportunities for cross-selling and exposure to other practice areas. This is a flexible opportunity and can be full-time, if the candidate has a portable book of business, or part-time, partnership track or non-partnership track.
Key Responsibilities:
- Counsel and advise clients on their rights and responsibilities under the core federal environmental laws and their state counterparts;
- Counsel clients with respect to the procurement of air, water, and waste permits, and represent clients before the TCEQ and EPA in applications for permits, including in contested case hearings;
- Negotiate water and wastewater agreements on behalf of developers;
- Represent clients in water and wastewater CCN matters before the PUC; and
- Counsel and advise clients with respect to regulatory and internal investigations and represent clients in environmental enforcement cases before the TCEQ, the OAG, and the EPA.
Location:
Our Environmental and Water attorneys are primarily located in our Austin office, but the successful candidate may sit in our Austin, Houston, or Dallas office.
