McGinnis Lochridge was honored to serve as the host firm for this year’s SCG Legal Annual Conference, welcoming colleagues and peers from across the globe to Austin. Over the course of two days, attendees engaged in panel discussions, connected with thought leaders, and celebrated the achievements of members within the SCG Legal community.
The conference opened with the SCG Legal Board Meeting and a reception at our downtown Austin office. We were also privileged to welcome Austin Mayor Kirk Watson as keynote speaker, who shared his insights on the city’s growth, leadership, and future opportunities.
Our firm was proud to have six McGinnis attorneys serve as moderators throughout the conference:
- Felicity Fowler – Work Without Borders: Navigating Immigration & Employment Law
- Jonathan Baughman – From Wells to Wind: Navigating the Future of Oil, Gas & Renewables
- Martin Lutz – U.S. Diplomacy Through Time With Canada & Europe
- Andrew Edge – Generative AI & the Practice of Law: Current Realities & Future Possibilities
- Jamie Joiner – Navigating Change: Forecasting the Trump Administration's Impact on Local, State & Federal Governments
- Marla Broaddus – The Client’s Perspective: What Matters, What Works & What Drives Loyalty
The conference concluded with a gala at the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum. We were thrilled to see our colleague Melissa Salhab Sykes recognized with the SCG Legal Above and Beyond Award. Established in 2020, this annual award honors members who demonstrate extraordinary contributions, steadfast commitment, and meaningful impact within the SCG Legal network.
Hosting the SCG Legal Annual Conference was an incredible opportunity to showcase both our firm and the vibrant city of Austin. We are grateful to everyone who joined us and helped make this year’s conference a success, and we look forward to continued collaboration with the SCG Legal community.
