Overview

Throughout its 90+ years of existence, McGinnis Lochridge’s success and outstanding reputation has been built in large part on our litigation practice. McGinnis Lochridge’s litigation team is well known and highly respected and has earned a reputation for excellence among our clients, the judiciary and the legal profession. McGinnis Lochridge lawyers have successfully tried cases in federal and state courts throughout the State of Texas and the country.

Representing both plaintiffs and defendants, McGinnis Lochridge lawyers have tried to verdict a vast array of cases, including oil and gas disputes, breach of contract, business torts, medical products, breach of fiduciary duty, probate/estate, securities fraud/registration, receivership, real estate claims, constitutional rights, labor and employment and environmental law. Our litigators have tried and won cases in which the future of our clients' businesses depends on the outcome. McGinnis Lochridge has also obtained substantial punitive damage awards for our clients. We represent both plaintiffs and defendants in litigation.

McGinnis Lochridge litigators are skilled trial lawyers with extensive trial experience. Unlike other firms who claim litigation experience, McGinnis Lochridge has a significant number of lawyers who have all tried more than 20 jury cases to verdict. Having tried significant number of cases to a jury gives our litigators invaluable experience in helping clients to understand and evaluate their case and understand the potential range or jury verdict.

Not all cases are tried to a jury, and McGinnis Lochridge litigators have successfully tried cases in arbitration and bench trials. The absence of a jury impacts some aspects of a trial presentation; consequently our litigators are knowledgeable and skillful regarding identifying issues/evidence that will be critical to the judge or arbitrator(s) hearing your case.

Our litigators are aggressive, creative, thorough and tenacious, yet always pragmatic. Our focus is on our valued clients and their interests. We understand that when clients need legal assistance, the goal is to resolve the issues favorably and efficiently, minimizing any negative effects on the client's business and life.  Experience, results and a value-conscious approach to litigation is why many of our litigation clients have been with the firm for decades.

When appropriate our attorneys are skilled negotiators who serve our clients by resolving disputes quickly and effectively through negotiated settlements one-on-one, in mediation or other alternative dispute resolution forums.

We have built strong, valued relationships over the years working closely with our clients.  Our clients range from individuals and start-ups to Fortune 100 companies. They include public and privately-held companies in a wide variety of industries, including technology, oil and gas, securities, insurance, finance, communications, healthcare, banking and finance, real estate, manufacturing, construction, legal services and many other industries.  Our broad client base is matched by the extensive range of our litigation experience.
